In our last installment, I focused on the plight of Black women, though I also touched on things applicable to Black people as a whole as well as folks of other races. This time the focus will be more on men—especially men of color. They have their own distinct sets of issues when it comes to how they’re handled and portrayed in entertainment media and the ways those portrayals feed into White-supremacist teachings and world-views.

This episode, I’ll also begin a journey of highlighting specific stories and authors who serve as examples for all of this. For now, both the stories and their writers will be allowed to keep their anonymity, but I believe it’s still important to have these examples. It’ll serve as a clear demonstration of just how severe these antics in the creative world get, and how much grotesqueness is sometimes packed into a single story and then brazenly fed to the public. And unfortunately, this isn’t obscure material hiding out in dark, remote corners of the internet.…

Intro/Summary for the TSOK series of episodes: They peddle abuse and self-harm under the guise of “love.” They fulfill White-supremacist fantasies and brag about multiculturalism and diversity. They stab us in the back and want us to pay for the knife. All hail our saviors from the Cult of the Crotch. …

Welcome to our series on the topics of the “kink shaming” argument and exposing the reality of what is being written and promoted by those draping themselves in a veneer of nobility—and the lying, cowardice, narcissism, racism, cruelty, and callousness displayed and engaged in by those writing it.

This kind of conduct preys on a lack of information and flourishes in the absence of confrontation. So it’s time to shine a light on the people who try to sell the worst of darkness while calling it sunshine, and who seek to silence those who actually do bring the light.

Content Notice: Most of the episode will be in the PG-13/TV-14 range, but portions of it do discuss explicit matters in explicit terms, so I’ve rated the episode as R/TV-MA accordingly. This begins at about 4:32. [When I provide a content notice, please only consider it applicable to the episode itself unless otherwise specified—linked material may be more or less graphic than the episode content.]
