So, we’re finally at the last part of my reaction to Episode 4! In this episode, we’ll talk about:
• Some comparisons I noticed between material from past seasons and Falco’s attempts to explain himself to Gabi here
• The subtle cultural influences I’ve noticed with these scenes
• And finally that Pieck scene that fans had so wanted MAPPA to include. P.S. Someone else caught this: Rather than having it in Episode 2 or 3, MAPPA waited until Episode 4 of Season 4 to have Pieck on all fours! Hmm, funny how the numbers lined up.
By the way, I’m also doing an extra part for the Resource Roundup this time: I’d like to highlight some of the reaction & analysis channels I recommend checking out.
Fair warning, though: Some do use thumbnails or titles that may be a bit spoilery. Like myself, SeaTactics goes out of his way to avoid having spoilers, including moderating the comment section as best he can. But I can’t yet vouch for the others that way. But their sharp minds and observant eyes very much make their work worth checking out either way.
And personally, my policy already is to turn off or put limits on YouTube notifications for 12 or so hours before the JAPANESE premiere time for each new episode, and then return to regular settings only after I’ve watched it. [Very roughly speaking, that amounts to first tweaking the notifications during the late evening hours of Saturday, if going by Eastern Standard Time.] Thus far, that’s been my best bet for avoiding spoiler titles and thumbnails until I’ve seen the new episode myself.
And let me say ahead of time that this isn’t a comprehensive list of reactors. I’m no doubt leaving off some worthy names here. You can find more folks in my general playlist for Season 4. But this will definitely be a good start.

Tybur Family
“A family of nobles that revolted against Eldia in the Great Titan War 100 years ago. They joined hands with the Marleyan hero Helos to overcome the Eldian Empire and bring an end to the war. As nobles who have possessed the War Hammer Titan, they have guided Marley for many years and hold significant influence both domestically and abroad. Currently, Willy Tybur is the head of the family.[4]“
This is one of those episodes where the comment section will be open on YouTube, so feel free to sound off there! HOWEVER…if you’re a manga reader, PLEASE make sure to properly mark off and hide from view any Season 4 spoilers you wish to share (that is, use a spoiler warning and make sure the spoiler material itself is below the “read more” tag). I do plan on moderating comments to try and help people avoid getting accidentally spoiled regarding Season 4.
And if you’re a troll who wants to deliberately do that for “fun”? …I’ll respond accordingly.
All right, folks. Shinzou wo sasageyo!!
Content Notice: Regarding content, most of my coverage of Attack on Titan will be in the PG range, unless otherwise noted. PG-13 will be when we get into things like particularly graphic descriptions of violence and suicide.
The show itself is definitely an R/TV-MA series, however, and I would recommend a minimum age of 15 or so. That is chiefly due to violence, mainly of the action type. That aspect gets very intense. There’s some strong language here and there, but not to where it’s really noteworthy, and as far as I can recall, there’s been no graphic nudity or sexual content thus far, though there are certain other content caveats mentioned in my review.
